FFmpeg
The Mac app ships FFmpeg to capture and encode the Mac's screen (Extend, Remote screen) and to decode the device's screen and camera (Mirror, Camera). This software uses code of FFmpeg licensed under the LGPL version 2.1 or later; its source can be downloaded from ffmpeg.org (below). FFmpeg is a trademark of Fabrice Bellard.
- Version: 8.1.3, unmodified: ffmpeg-8.1.3.tar.xz, SHA-256
7138d28c96d9d3e3af4ee3d8cad72741f8ffb40da90c1112235dea3ecd3178a3. - Licence: LGPL 2.1 or later only. It is built without
--enable-gpl,--enable-nonfreeor--enable-version3and with no external libraries (no x264, no x265); video is encoded by macOS's own VideoToolbox. - How it is built (arm64, macOS 13 or later,
MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=13.0):./configure --arch=arm64 --cc=clang \ --extra-cflags="-arch arm64 -mmacosx-version-min=13.0" \ --extra-ldflags="-arch arm64 -mmacosx-version-min=13.0" \ --disable-everything --disable-autodetect --disable-doc --disable-debug \ --disable-ffplay --disable-ffprobe --enable-static --disable-shared \ --enable-avfoundation --enable-videotoolbox \ --enable-indev=avfoundation --enable-demuxer=h264 --enable-muxer=flv,rawvideo \ --enable-protocol=pipe,tcp --enable-decoder=h264,rawvideo \ --enable-encoder=h264_videotoolbox,hevc_videotoolbox,rawvideo \ --enable-hwaccel=h264_videotoolbox,hevc_videotoolbox --enable-parser=h264,hevc \ --enable-filter=buffer,buffersink,abuffer,abuffersink,format,aformat,null,anull,fps,scale,transpose,hflip,vflip,pad,setsar make ffmpegffmpeg -buildconfrun on the copy in the app prints the same options. - Replacing it: the app runs FFmpeg as a separate program and doesn't link it. You may replace
Android Link.app/Contents/app/resources/mac/ffmpegwith your own build (re-sign the app withcodesign --force --deep --sign - "Android Link.app"so macOS opens it). - Written offer: for at least three years from the last time we distribute this version of the app, we will give anyone who asks a copy of the complete corresponding source of the FFmpeg we ship, on a medium customarily used for software interchange, for no more than the cost of providing it. Write to hello@getlinked.now.
